Clinical Services
BEEHYVE SERVICES
Clinical Services at Beehyve
Beehyve clinical services support you with the medical aspects of ADHD. Our clinical team is led by a General Practitioner (GP) and includes clinically trained professionals who can easily interface with our therapists and other healthcare providers.
Our clinical team's approach is distinct from coaching or counselling in its emphasis on bringing together medication and strategies - 'pills and skills'. Our practitioners combine their general medical qualifications with a deep understanding of ADHD. They can offer medical advice, treatment plans, and continuous support for your ADHD journey.
Through Beehyve's Clinical Services, you'll find a medically-informed approach to reaching your goals for living with ADHD.

GP with Special Interest
Beehyve's doctors are 'GPSIs - General Practitioners with Special Interest. This special interest is providing ADHD-specific support to complement the care of your usual doctor.
Our GPSIs help ensure your ADHD support or ADHD medication is tailored for you. Think of them as expert problem solvers with a holistic approach to your ADHD care.
GPs are unable to diagnose ADHD or prescribe ADHD medications if you are without an official Medical Authority from a psychiatrist. Nor will our GPs prescribe sedatives or initiate a prescription for stimulants themselves. However, to help with your journey, they can make referrals.
Your health insurance provider may contribute to the cost of your visit. This depends on your policy.
You'll need to keep seeing your regular doctor for all your other medical needs.
Our GP Special Interest can help you with:
tailoring and managing your ADHD medication
balancing 'pills and skills'
making a referral to a psychiatrist where appropriate.
In New Zealand, GPs can not initiate new prescriptions for ADHD stimulants.
PRICE $300: Initial Appointment
PRICE $160 - $300: Follow up appointments
ADHD Assessment Team
At Beehyve, our assessment team is made up of clinically trained professionals who may complete a ‘Pre-Assessment’, GP’s with psychiatric training and oversight, and Psychiatrists.
Specialising in diagnostic assessment of ADHD, we conduct comprehensive differential assessments to accurately identify ADHD and check for other potential co-occurring conditions. This ensures you get an accurate diagnosis, and appropriate referral for conditions we suspect but aren’t trained to diagnose.
Once diagnosed, our clinical team can either refer you back to your GP, or can develop and oversee personalised treatment plans, often involving medication management to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects. The choice is yours.
Beehyve’s clinical team can provide continuous support and follow-up care, working closely with our therapists and other Beehyve providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to support you.
Our Assessment Team can help you with:
a pre-assessment for ADHD; and diagnostic assessments for ADHD
clinical management, or referral to you GP
comprehensive medical, therapy and coaching support.
PRICE $265: Pre Assessment
PRICE $725 - 1050: Psychiatrist ADHD Diagnostic Assessment
PRICE $695: GP ADHD Diagnostic Assessment
Psychiatrist diagnostic assessments require an initial pre-assessment. Beehyve’s pre-assessment assesses for the presence of ADHD Symptoms only.
We will recommend different practitioners for a diagnostic assessment based on preference, availability, complexity and wait times.
A diagnostic practitioner will provide a special authority if suitable. They may or may write the first prescription, instead referring to a Beehyve GP, or your GP.
