Meet Dr Nicola

Dr Nicola Munro is a GP with over a decade of experience in general practice, and a strong interest in ADHD and neurodivergent care. Her focus in this area developed both through her clinical work and her personal experience, after she and her daughters were diagnosed with ADHD. This has shaped a deeply empathetic and informed approach, grounded in understanding the real‑world impact of living with ADHD over time.

In her previous practice, Nicola naturally became the “ADHD doctor,” with a significant portion of her patient group identifying as neurodivergent. She is committed to creating a space where people feel accepted, understood, and supported, and works alongside clients to make sense of their experiences and build practical, sustainable ways forward.

Nicola takes a holistic and collaborative approach to ADHD care. Alongside assessment and medication where appropriate, she has a strong interest in lifestyle medicine, recognising the important role that sleep, nutrition, movement, and day‑to‑day routines play in supporting wellbeing. Her work often brings together these elements with practical strategies and coaching‑style support to help people find what works for them.

She is known for her thoughtful, thorough approach and her strong listening skills, taking the time to explore complexity and ensure each person’s care is well considered and tailored. Nicola values equity and brings a strong sense of fairness and advocacy into her work, particularly when supporting those who may not always feel well served by traditional systems.

Outside of work, Nicola enjoys walking in the South Island hill country with her two golden retrievers, and spending time cooking and sharing good food with her family.
