Kia ora. I’m a Consultant Psychiatrist with more than 20 years’ experience in mental health, with a particular interest in neurodivergence and complex adult ADHD assessments. Over the years, I’ve seen how much difference an accurate diagnosis can make. I especially enjoy when the picture isn’t straightforward, helping people understand what may be going on and bringing some clarity and validation to their experiences. My other areas of interest include perinatal mental health and coexisting mental health conditions.
I was drawn to Beehyve because of its multidisciplinary approach. ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions rarely sit neatly in isolation, and I value being part of a team where GPs, psychologists and coaches can work together to support the whole person.
Advocacy has always been important to me in my work. Sometimes that means being prepared to step outside my comfort zone when it matters for the person I’m working with.
Away from work, I enjoy knitting, crochet and photography, and I like learning or trying something new each year. That has included everything from motorbike riding to Indian classical dance.
Married with two adult children, I’m still learning about myself and value giving people the space to simply be who they are.
