-
ACT helps you accept what’s out of your control and commit to actions that improve and enrich your life.
This approach can help you deal with painful thoughts and feelings so they have less impact and influence.
ACT also helps you get clear about what's most important by starting with your values and then using those to guide, inspire and motivate change things for the better.
-
DBT is a practical, skills-based approach that helps people build greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions and reactions, while developing strategies to navigate life's challenges more effectively.
Coaching informed by DBT may focus on areas such as emotional regulation, managing stress, improving relationships, and building healthy coping skills. The aim is to help you respond to situations in ways that align with your goals and values, even when emotions are intense.
-
Metacognition and mindfulness are closely related skills that involve learning to step back and notice what your mind is thinking and what your body is feeling, as though you were observing these experiences rather than being caught up in them.
Developing this skill can help you move from simply reacting or "doing" on autopilot to becoming more aware of your choices. By noticing thoughts, emotions and physical sensations as they arise, you can respond more intentionally, make decisions that align with your goals and values, and create opportunities for meaningful change.
A range of reflective practices and mindfulness exercises can help you develop this skill.
-
CliftonStrengths is a strengths-based coaching tool that helps identify your natural patterns of thinking, relating and getting things done. By understanding your top strengths, you can gain insight into what energises you, where you naturally add value, and how to use those qualities more intentionally in your work and everyday life.
Rather than focusing on what is difficult, CliftonStrengths helps you recognise and build on what comes most naturally, supporting greater confidence, effectiveness and personal growth.
